book has arrived.

just got our 'captain planet' book in the mail today. thanks to our strict scheduling we have had everything done and ready to go for about a week now.

i feel that our project was pretty successful, and i am especially glad with the way the book came out. but in hindsight it is a little disappointing that the stickers i put up were taken down so quickly, as it would have been nice to see the responses they got from students through a week on campus. but at least i got documentation of them up, if only for a few minutes.

stick and run.

despite the rain, kimberly and i headed out around campus last night to put up some of our vinyl stickers. because of the rain i had to go back today to put some on surfaces that were less than dry last night. here are the pics of what we got put up. hopefully they will last through the weekend so that you will be able to see them in person.

final designs?

here are what will hopefully be the final designs for the vinyl prints.
decided i probably wouldnt have the patience for the scattery edges of the original designs, so i simplified the graphics and text both.
the cigarettes and the image immediately below will go on the smoking posts around campus.
and i am thinking of putting the crosses around either the windows of the health center or the emu.

project two sticker designs.

here are the stickers i designed for project two, creating awareness through tool focus.
the first group is healthcare cost awareness and the second is smoking awareness. stickers are meant to be blunt, striking and to the point.

projest 2 sketches

here are a few ideas for my project 2.
the tools group has created a subgroup codename captain planet that will use vinyl and laser cutter techniques to create awareness for problems, categorized into earth, wind, fire, water, and heart.
i am assigned to fire/heart. i am having some difficulty coming up with an idea for heart, but for fire i chose anti-smoking awareness.
here are a few drafts of stickers/possible stencil ideas i made up....
